A newly renovated home in need of a backyard feature came to me as an open brief with a few colours attached. Knowing that the owners style was eclectic, full of texture and layered with colour - I created concepts all reflecting this style.
Simple shapes in large formations, filled with detailed additions make this mural stand out in the yard - surrounded by kids play equipment in a lush, shaded garden this mural sits at nearly 5m wide.
Overall the job took about 12 hours, featuring a combination of 8+ shades onto a un-rendered brick wall. And, of course, maximum sunburn. Working in layers from white to detailed filled colour, this mural came together quickly revealing that the concept design was too detailed for the space. Easy fix - take a few elements off, let the shapes breath and stand back to enjoy.
